Today was our graduation album photo day, and I couldn’t sleep well last night.
I was so excited that I woke up even before my alarm.
The sun was shining through my window, and birds were singing.
I got out of bed quickly and put on my favorite school uniform.

My mom helped me get ready with my hair and even brushed out the tangles.
I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled.
Then I picked out a ribbon that matched my uniform.
My dad made up a quick breakfast and I ate up all of it.

After that, Dad dropped me off at school.
On the way, we talked about how fast time had gone by.
At the gate, I ran into Emma, my best friend.
We both laughed at each other’s fancy look.

We walked around the school yard and saw other classmates.
Some were already lined up near the big tree.
The boys put on too much hair gel, and the girls secretly put on lipstick.
It was funny but cute.

Our teacher called out names to check attendance.
Then we sat down on benches while the camera man set up his equipment.
He told us not to move too much.
We stood up and sat down many times as he adjusted things.

I stood next to Emma in the second row.
She gave me a big grin and I held up a peace sign.
The teacher reminded us not to blink or make silly faces.
But one boy made fun of the tall kid’s shoes.

We all laughed at his joke, even the teacher smiled.
Finally, the camera went off with a big flash.
It felt like a special moment frozen in time.
After that, we took off our jackets because it was warm.

We started taking lots of fun photos with our friends.
I posed with Emma and two more girls.
We made up silly poses and laughed a lot.
Some girls put together heart signs with their hands.

I asked for a photo with my favorite teacher, Miss Kim.
She smiled at me and said I looked very grown-up.
We stood in front of the school building for a photo.
Just then, the sun came out from behind the clouds.

It made everything look brighter and more special.
My friend Ryan gave out candies to celebrate.
I ate up a piece of strawberry chocolate.
Then we all wrote down our names and messages on photo cards.

Everyone talked about their middle school plans.
Some were nervous, others were excited.
I thought about all our memories together.
I looked back on my very first day of school.

I remembered when I cried and didn’t want to go in.
Now, I had so many friends and good memories.
I really grew up a lot during these six years.
We hung around the classroom for a while.

I cleaned up my desk and found an old drawing inside.
It made me smile.
I packed up my school bag one last time.
Then, we took down the decorations on the wall.

There were old posters, photos, and birthday charts.
I said goodbye to my chair and my favorite corner.
I held onto a class photo and didn’t want to let go.
Emma and I walked out of the school together.

We talked over all the memories and laughed again.
On the bus, I wrote in my diary about the day.
I looked forward to seeing the printed album soon.
When I got home, I put away my uniform carefully.

My mom asked about everything, and I told her every little detail.
She pointed out how mature I looked in my photos.
Later, I looked through my old class pictures.
Some were funny, and some made me tear up.

I smiled at my younger self.
It’s hard to believe I grew out of my small shoes and bags.
I even found my old first-grade workbook.
I felt proud of myself for coming this far.

I also wrote down some of my goals for middle school.
I want to make new friends, study hard, and try out for the school play.
But I’ll always hold onto my elementary school memories.
I will never forget about this amazing day.

It was the end of something special, but also the beginning of something new.
