Today, we had a field trip to visit the middle school we will go to next year.
I woke up early because I was very excited and just a little nervous.
The weather was perfect—sunny but not too hot.
After I got ready, I put on my school uniform and my most comfortable shoes.
My mom packed up my water bottle, some cookies, and a small notebook.

She also reminded me to stay with the group.
Dad dropped me off at school, and he wished me a fun day.
When I arrived, I met up with my best friends, Jisu and Danny.
We were all chatting while we lined up near the bus.

When the bus finally showed up, we got on quickly.
I sat down by the window, and Danny sat next to me.
We looked out at the streets while the bus moved through town.
Some kids talked about how big the middle school might be.

It didn’t take long before we got to the middle school.
As we got off the bus, some students were waiting to welcome us.
They were wearing their own uniforms and looked cool.
They smiled and showed us around the school building.

We walked through the wide hallways and looked at the classrooms.
Everything looked so clean and bright!
Each classroom had colorful posters and big windows.
One room even had bean bags for reading time.

We went into the science lab next.
There, a teacher turned on a funny-looking machine.
It made bubbles and smoke, and we all laughed at it.
The science teacher told us about all the fun projects we could do.

I wrote down some of the cool facts in my notebook.
Then we went over to the music room.
Inside, some older students were playing guitar and drums.
I really liked the sound, and I want to try out for band next year.

After that, we visited the library.
It was quiet and full of books and computers.
I picked out a book about space and read through a few pages.
The librarian said we could check out any book with our school ID.

During break time, we went to the gym.
Some kids played basketball while others hung out in the corner.
Jisu and I ran around for a bit and then sat on the floor.
We ate up our snacks and talked about the school.

After snack time, we cleaned up all our trash.
The teachers came around to check on everyone.
Then, we gathered in the auditorium for a Q&A time.
We asked the middle schoolers what they liked about the school.

One girl said she liked the art class best.
Another boy said the lunchroom had really good food!
That made all of us excited.
Our teacher pointed out that we will grow a lot in middle school.

Before we left, we all took a photo in front of the main school sign.
I stood next to Jisu and we both smiled at the camera.
The sun was shining, and the photo came out great.
Then, we got back on the bus to head back to our school.

On the way home, I looked through the photos on my friend’s phone.
We talked over all the fun parts of the visit.
Back at school, the teacher went over our day again.
She said we did a great job and stayed safe.

When I got home, my mom asked about everything.
I told her about the science room and the library.
Then, I showed her the notes I wrote.
She smiled at me and said I’ll do great in middle school.

Later, I looked back on the whole day.
I felt excited, happy, and not so nervous anymore.
I also wrote in my diary before going to bed.
I can’t wait to start middle school next year!

오늘은 내년에 갈 중학교를 방문하는 현장 학습을 했습니다.
너무 설레고 조금 긴장되어 일찍 일어났습니다.
날씨는 완벽했습니다. 맑았지만 너무 덥지는 않았습니다.
준비를 마치고 교복을 입고 제일 편한 신발을 신었습니다.
엄마는 제 물병, 쿠키, 그리고 작은 공책을 챙겨 주셨습니다.

엄마는 또한 저에게 그룹과 함께 있어야 한다고 상기시켜 주셨습니다.
아빠는 저를 학교에 내려주시고 즐거운 하루 보내라고 말씀하셨습니다.
학교에 도착해서 가장 친한 친구인 지수와 대니를 만났습니다.
우리는 버스 근처에 줄을 서서 이야기를 나누었습니다.

드디어 버스가 도착하자 우리는 재빨리 버스에 탔습니다.
저는 창가에 앉았고 대니는 제 옆에 앉았습니다.
버스가 마을을 지나가는 동안 우리는 거리를 바라보았습니다.
어떤 아이들은 중학교가 얼마나 클지 이야기했습니다.

얼마 지나지 않아 중학교에 도착했습니다.
버스에서 내리자 몇몇 학생들이 우리를 반기려고 기다리고 있었습니다.
학생들은 각자 교복을 입고 있었고 멋져 보였습니다.
학생들은 미소를 지으며 학교 건물을 안내해 주었습니다.

넓은 복도를 지나 교실들을 둘러보았습니다.
모든 것이 정말 깨끗하고 밝아 보였습니다!
각 교실에는 화려한 포스터와 큰 창문이 있었습니다.
한 교실에는 독서 시간을 위한 빈백 의자도 있었습니다.

다음으로 과학실로 들어갔습니다.
거기서 선생님이 이상하게 생긴 기계를 켜셨습니다.
거품과 연기가 나는 기계를 보고 우리는 모두 웃었습니다.
과학 선생님은 우리가 할 수 있는 재미있는 프로젝트들에 대해 이야기해 주셨습니다.

저는 노트에 멋진 사실들을 적었습니다.
그런 다음 음악실로 갔습니다.
안에서는 나이 든 학생들이 기타와 드럼을 연주하고 있었습니다.
저는 그 소리가 정말 마음에 들었고, 내년에 밴드 오디션을 보고 싶습니다.

그 후, 도서관에 갔습니다.
도서관은 조용했고 책과 컴퓨터로 가득했습니다.
저는 우주에 관한 책을 골라 몇 페이지 읽었습니다. 사서 선생님은 학생증만 있으면 어떤 책이든 빌릴 수 있다고 하셨어요.

쉬는 시간에 체육관에 갔어요.
어떤 아이들은 농구를 하고 어떤 아이들은 구석에서 놀았어요.
지수와 저는 잠시 뛰어놀다가 바닥에 앉았어요.
간식을 먹으면서 학교에 대해 이야기했어요.

간식 시간이 끝나고 쓰레기를 모두 치웠어요.
선생님들이 와서 모두 잘 지내는지 확인했어요.
그런 다음 강당에 모여 질의응답 시간을 가졌어요.
중학생들에게 학교에서 어떤 점이 좋았는지 물어봤어요.

한 여자아이는 미술 수업이 가장 좋았다고 했고,
다른 남자아이는 급식실 음식이 정말 맛있다고 했어요!
그 말에 우리 모두 신이 났어요.
선생님은 중학교에서 많이 성장할 거라고 말씀하셨어요.

떠나기 전에 모두 학교 간판 앞에서 사진을 찍었어요.
저는 지수 옆에 서서 카메라를 보고 미소를 지었어요.
햇살이 따스해서 사진이 아주 잘 나왔어요.
그런 다음 우리는 학교로 돌아가기 위해 버스를 탔습니다.

집에 오는 길에 친구 휴대폰에 있는 사진을 봤어요.
우리는 방문 중 즐거웠던 모든 순간들에 대해 이야기를 나눴습니다.
학교로 돌아와서 선생님은 다시 한번 그날의 일들을 이야기해 주셨어요.

엄마는 저에게 미소를 지으시며 중학교에서 잘할 거라고 말씀하셨어요.

나중에 저는 그날 하루를 돌아보았어요.
신나고 행복했고, 더 이상 긴장하지 않았어요.
그리고 잠자리에 들기 전에 일기를 썼어요.
내년에 중학교에 입학하는 게 너무 기대돼요!
