1 A Strange Night in Our Neighborhood 

Late at night, our quiet neighborhood felt strange.
Several black cars stopped quietly in front of the house next door.
Men with serious faces got out of the cars.
They wore normal clothes, but they looked like secret agents in a movie.
I shivered a little with fear.

"Who are they?" I wondered and peeked through the window.
The men walked up to the door next door.
They knocked on the door firmly.
A moment later, the kind man from next door opened the door.
He looked surprised and confused.

The men in black said something quickly.
The man’s face grew serious.
Then something shocking happened.
They grabbed his arms gently but firmly.
He didn’t fight back, but he looked very nervous.

In seconds, he was taken to one of the black cars.
The cars drove away into the dark night.
My heart was racing.
“What just happened?” I thought.
It didn’t make any sense.

The next day, everyone in the neighborhood talked about what happened.
People shared their own ideas.
“Maybe he was involved in something big.”
“Were they police?” someone asked.
“It’s so strange because he was always so quiet.”

The man’s house stayed empty for days.
No one heard from him.
The neighbors felt more and more uneasy.
At night, the street felt spooky and quiet.
It was hard to forget that night.

Time went by, and people stopped talking about it.
But when I look at that house, I still feel strange.

3 해석

굳은 표정의 남자들이 차에서 내렸죠.

옷은 평범했지만, 마치 영화 속 비밀 요원처럼 보였어요.

저는 순간 무서워서 몸이 오싹해졌어요.

 

“누구지?” 창문을 살짝 열고 몰래 봤어요.

그들은 옆집 문으로 걸어갔어요.

문을 세게 두드렸죠.

잠시 후 평소 친절했던 옆집 아저씨가 문을 열었어요.

아저씨는 놀라고 당황한 표정이었어요.

 

검은 옷의 남자들이 무언가 짧게 말했어요.

아저씨의 표정은 점점 굳어졌어요.

금세 아저씨는 차에 태워졌고,

차들은 어둠 속으로 떠났어요.

"도대체 무슨 일이 일어난 거지?"

도무지 이해할 수 없었어요.

 

다음 날, 동네는 수군거리는 이야기로 가득했어요.

“혹시 무슨 큰 사건에 연루된 건 아닐까?”

“항상 조용하신 분이라서 더 놀랐어.”

 

며칠이 지나도 그 집은 텅 비어 있었어요.

아저씨 소식은 들려오지 않았어요.
