I Lost My Voice During the Presentation

Today was a big day at school.
We had to do a presentation in class.
I worked on it for many days.
I wrote everything in my notebook.
I even made some cute drawings.
I practiced at home again and again.
My mom listened to me and said I did well.
I stood in front of the mirror and spoke loudly.
I was ready and not scared.
But when my turn came, something strange happened.
I stood up and walked to the front.
I looked at everyone in class.
Suddenly, my voice disappeared.
I opened my mouth, but no sound came out.
I felt like crying.
I tried to speak, but it didn’t work.
My teacher came over and whispered, “It’s okay.”
She told me to take a deep breath.
My friends looked at me with kind eyes.
I took a deep breath and tried again.
Still, nothing came out.
My face turned red.
My legs shook a little.
The teacher asked me to sit down and rest.
I went back to my seat slowly.
I put down my notes.
I couldn't hold back my tears.
My best friend patted my back.
She gave me her handkerchief.
I felt sad and a little embarrassed.
After class, the teacher talked to me.
She said it happens sometimes.
She said I can try again next week.
I nodded and smiled a little.
My friends cheered me up.
They said I still did a good job.
At home, I told my family what happened.
They hugged me tight.
Mom made hot tea for me.
Dad said, “You’re brave to try.”
I realized that trying is important.
I won’t give up.
Next time, I’ll do better.
Now I feel a little better.
