1 초등학생 영어읽기 My First Speech Contest 

Today was a big day for me.
I joined the school speech contest for the first time.
When I signed up, I was nervous.
But my teacher cheered me on.
She said, “You can do it!”
So I wrote down my speech.
The topic was about dreams.
I worked on it every day.
My mom helped me fix some words.
I practiced in front of the mirror.
Sometimes I messed up, but I kept going.
My friend listened to me and clapped.
I felt more confident day by day.
Then the contest day finally came.
I woke up early and got ready.
Dad dropped me off at school.
In the hall, students sat down quietly.
The judges looked serious.
My heart was beating fast.
When my name was called, I stood up.
I walked to the front with shaking legs.
I took a deep breath and looked at the audience.
Then I began my speech.
I talked about dreaming big.
I used clear words and strong voice.
I even smiled a little.
Near the end, I forgot one sentence.
But I didn't give up.
I looked down at my notes quickly.
Then I picked up where I left off.
People nodded and listened.
When I finished, they clapped loudly.
I bowed and went back to my seat.
My teacher gave me a thumbs up.
She was proud of me.
Even if I don’t win, I did my best.
This was a big step for me.
At home, I told my family everything.
They hugged me and said I was brave.
Now I feel stronger.

오늘은 제게 큰 날이었어요.

그래서 저는 연설문을 썼어요.

사람들이 고개를 끄덕이며 들었어요.

제가 끝내자 박수를 크게 쳐줬어요.

고개 숙여 인사하고 자리로 돌아갔어요.

선생님이 엄지척을 해주셨어요.

저를 자랑스러워하셨어요.

비록 우승하지 못해도 저는 최선을 다했어요.

정말 큰 도전이었어요.

집에 와서 가족에게 모든 걸 말했어요.

가족은 저를 꼭 안아주고 용감했다고 했어요.

지금은 더 강해진 기분이에요.
