A huge number of people came to Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday. They came to see a free concert by the famous singer Lady Gaga.
People started lining up early in the morning to get a good spot. The concert was paid for by the city. The people who planned the concert said about 2.1 million people were there.
One fan named Lucas told CNN that he thinks even more people came than when Madonna had a concert at the same beach last year.
The night before the Rio concert, Lady Gaga surprised people on the beach. She got on stage and practiced for the big show.
“I really missed you,” she said while people clapped. It was her first time in Brazil since 2012. She said, “I know this is not the real show, just a practice, but it feels like the real thing.” Then she started to sing her song “Alejandro.”
On Saturday night, a tourist from Argentina named Abril talked to the news. She said, “The feeling in Copacabana is amazing. Rio is always fun and full of special moments.”
