 Taking a Taxi 본문

As we reach the curb, the thought of navigating public transport with all our luggage makes us realize we are too tired. After a long flight, the idea of a direct ride is far more appealing. So, Dad quickly flags down a taxi that pulls up to the curb. The taxi driver, a kind-looking person, immediately gets out to help us put in our bags, making the process smooth and easy. Once we're all settled inside, Dad clearly tells the driver, “Please take us to Maple Hotel.” The driver, understanding our request, smiles and says okay, ready to start the journey.

As the taxi pulls away from the airport, I look around and see many tall buildings flashing by, their glass windows reflecting the city lights. The streets are busy with cars and people, giving me a glimpse into the vibrant life of this new place. My little brother looks out the window too, his eyes wide with wonder at the unfamiliar sights. Before long, we get off at the hotel, pulling up right in front of its welcoming entrance. We make sure to say thank you to the driver for the comfortable ride. Dad then pays for the ride, settling the fare with a quick transaction. Finally, feeling relieved and ready to rest, we all carry in our bags, eager to check into our rooms.

우리가 도로 연석에 도착하자, 많은 짐을 들고 대중교통을 타는 건 너무 힘들 것 같다는 생각이 들어 우리는 너무 피곤하다는 걸 깨닫습니다. 긴 비행 후라 직접 가는 택시가 훨씬 편해 보였습니다. 그래서 아빠는 빠르게 택시를 세우고 택시는 우리에게 다가와 멈춥니다. 택시 기사는 친절해 보이는 분이었고 바로 내려서 짐을 넣도록 도와줍니다. 모두 자리에 앉자 아빠는 "Maple Hotel까지 부탁합니다"라고 기사에게 말합니다. 기사는 우리의 요청을 이해하고 미소를 지으며 출발할 준비를 합니다.

 

택시는 공항을 떠나고 나는 주위를 둘러보며 높은 건물들이 반짝이는 걸 봅니다. 거리에는 차와 사람들로 활기차고 이곳의 생생한 모습을 잠깐 볼 수 있습니다. 내 동생도 창밖을 내다보며 신기해합니다. 곧 우리는 호텔에 도착해 택시에서 내려 친절한 기사님께 감사 인사를 합니다. 아빠는 요금을 지불하고 빠르게 정산을 마칩니다. 마지막으로 안도감을 느끼며 우리는 짐을 들고 호텔 안으로 들어가 방에 체크인할 준비를 합니다.
