Staying Late for a Group Presentation 800
Our teacher gave us a group project for science class.
“We’ll have presentations next week,” she said.
She split us into groups of four.
I was with Jina, Minho, and Yuna.
We sat together and chose the topic “Volcanoes.”
Everyone wrote down what part they would do.
Jina looked for facts, Minho drew pictures,
Yuna designed the slides, and I worked on the script.
Each day, we met after school to get things done.
We talked about how to start the slide show.
I read through my lines to make sure they made sense.
Sometimes we laughed, sometimes we got stuck.
But we always kept going.
One day, we stayed at school until almost 6 p.m.
We sat around a big table with paper and laptops.
The classroom was quiet, just our group and the janitor.
Minho cut out shapes for the poster.
Yuna checked the font and colors.
Jina added sound effects to one slide.
I tried to memorize my part, but I kept forgetting it!
At one point, we ran out of glue.
So I went down to the office to borrow more.
The staff member smiled and said, “Still here?”
I nodded and said, “Big presentation coming.”
Back in class, we put everything together.
The slide show looked great.
We practiced standing up and speaking clearly.
Jina stood in front of us and said,
“Remember to look at the audience!”
I took a deep breath and gave it a try.
Minho gave me a thumbs-up.
Yuna played the sound clip, and we timed it perfectly.
After finishing, we were tired but proud.
We packed up our bags and walked out of the building.
The sky was turning orange.
We all smiled and said, “Let’s do our best tomorrow.”
That night, I told my mom why I was late.
She said, “Good teamwork is always worth it.”
I nodded and went to bed early.
The next day, we presented first.
I stood up, held the microphone, and spoke clearly.
Our pictures, sounds, and slides all worked great.
When we finished, the class clapped loudly.
Our teacher walked over and said,
“You stayed late, and it paid off.”
I’ll never forget that feeling.
Teamwork, late nights, and lots of laughs—
That’s how great projects are made.
