A Yummy Dinner Out

Hello! My name is Anna. Today, my family and I are going out for dinner. I am very happy because we don’t eat out often. My little brother, Max, is also excited. He keeps asking, "Can I eat pizza today? Can I have ice cream too?"

We wake up early in the morning because it is Saturday, and we have a fun day planned. I get out of bed and put on my favorite yellow dress with flowers. Max puts on his new red T-shirt.

I wash up and brush my teeth. After that, I go downstairs to eat breakfast. Mom makes pancakes, and Dad makes orange juice. Max and I set up the table with plates, forks, and cups. We all eat together.

 

After breakfast, Mom says, "Let’s head out to the mall first. Anna needs new shoes."
We get in the car, and Dad drives us to the mall. At the mall, we walk around and look for new shoes for me. I finally pick out pink shoes with little stars on them. "These are perfect!" I say.

When shopping is done, Dad says, "Now let’s head over to the restaurant."
The restaurant is big and busy. I look around and see many people eating. Some are laughing. Some kids are playing near their tables.

We sit down at a nice table near the window. A friendly waiter comes over and says, "Welcome! Please look through the menu and let me know when you are ready."

I pick out a hamburger and fries. Max wants pizza. Dad looks at the menu and says, "I will have pasta." Mom goes for a salad and soup.

While we wait for the food, we talk about school and our plans for next week. I tell Mom and Dad about my art class and how I painted a big rainbow. Max talks about his favorite toys.

Then, Mom takes out her phone and shows us some funny pictures of Max when he was a baby. "Look at my face!" Max laughs.

Soon, the waiter brings out the food. It smells so good! I pick up my fork and dig in. "Yummy!" I say with a big smile.

Max starts eating his pizza. He eats so fast that Mom says, "Max, please slow down."
"Okay, Mom," Max says and puts down his pizza for a minute.

Dad cuts up his pasta and gives me a bite. "Try this," he says. I take a bite and say, "Mmm, that's good too!"

While eating, I look out the window and see people walking by. Some are holding hands, and some are carrying shopping bags.

After we finish eating, the waiter comes back and asks, "Would you like dessert?"
"Yes, please!" Max and I say together. We pick out ice cream — I choose chocolate, and Max picks vanilla with sprinkles.

When we are done, Dad pays for the meal. "Thank you, Dad!" I say. "Thank you, Daddy!" says Max.

Before we leave, Mom says, "Let's take a picture to remember this day." So we all smile, and Dad takes out his phone to snap a photo.

Then we get up from the table and head out of the restaurant. I look back and say, "Can we come back again one day?"
Dad smiles and says, "Sure, Anna. It was fun!"

On the way home, I think about the yummy food and the fun time we had together.
"Today was a good day," I say. Mom and Dad smile and agree with me.
When we get home, I write down the fun things we did in my diary. I draw a picture of my hamburger and ice cream.

"I want to remember this day forever!" I say to Max. Max nods and says, "Me too!"
