Acting as a Historical Hero 

Hi everyone! Today, I’m going to tell you about the time I acted as a historical person in class.

It all started when our social studies teacher gave us a special project.
“We’re going to do a history play!” she said.
We all got excited and looked at each other.

She put us into groups and let each group choose a person from history.
My group picked Admiral Yi Sun-sin.
I raised my hand and said, “I want to play him!”

We went to the library to learn more.
I read about his battles and brave actions.
We wrote down notes and important facts.
Jisoo worked on the script.
Minho drew the background and flags.
I memorized my lines at home.

Each night, I stood in front of the mirror and practiced.
My mom helped me with hard words.
She even watched me perform and gave tips.
My sister laughed, but I kept going.

On Friday, we brought costumes to school.
I put on a long navy coat and a paper helmet.
We set up the classroom like a ship.
Our group stood up and began the play.

I walked forward and shouted,
“I will protect my country with all my heart!”
My classmates clapped loudly.
I felt proud and strong.

Other groups acted out their scenes too.
We watched stories about kings, queens, and inventors.
After the show, the teacher talked about how proud she was.
She said, “You all brought history to life.”

That night, I wrote down my feelings in my journal.
I thought about how brave Admiral Yi was.
Now I want to read more about other heroes.
I also want to be brave like him.

This project taught me to speak with confidence,
to work with others,

그날 밤 일기장에 제 느낌을 적었어요.

이순신 장군의 용기에 대해 생각하게 되었고,

다른 영웅들에 대해서도 더 읽어보고 싶어졌어요.

저도 언젠가 그런 용감한 사람이 되고 싶어요.

 

이번 활동을 통해

나는 자신 있게 말하는 법,

함께 일하는 법,

그리고 역사를 재미있게 배우는 법을 배웠어요.
