Girl Scout Activities

It was a bright Saturday morning, and Mia was so excited. Today, she was going to meet up with her Girl Scout friends for a special day in the park.
She got up early, stretched her arms, and looked out the window. The sun was shining, and birds were singing happily.

"Mia, don’t forget to put on your uniform and pack up your things!" called Mom.
"Okay, Mom! I’m almost ready!" Mia said as she picked out her favorite green scarf to go with her uniform.

After breakfast, Mia packed up her bag with snacks, water, and a notebook to write down fun memories. She also brought along her camera to take photos.
"I can’t wait to head out and see everyone," she said as she put on her hat and backpack.

When she arrived at the park, she saw her friends and leaders already there, waving and smiling.
"Hi, Mia! Come and join in!" shouted Emma, jumping up and down.
Mia laughed and ran over to the group.

First, they all set up a tent for their picnic.
"Let’s help out and get this done quickly," said the leader.
Some girls put together the poles, while others laid out the picnic blanket and plates.

"Now, let’s go over the plan for today," said their leader. "We will pick up trash around the park, hand out snacks, and come up with a new Girl Scout song. After that, we can make up some fun games to play together!"

Mia and her friends looked around and picked up cans, bottles, and paper.
"Look! I found a bag. I’ll put it in the trash," said Mia, proud of helping.
Emma found some paper and picked it up quickly, smiling.

After cleaning, they sat down under a big tree to rest.
"Time to pass out snacks!" said Emma. She handed out apples, cookies, and juice.
Everyone ate up their food quickly because they were so hungry from working hard.

Next, the leader said, "Let’s think up a fun song!"
Mia said, "We can come up with words about nature, camping, and friendship."
"Great idea!" said Emma. They all wrote down funny and kind words and made up a creative song.

"Let’s sing out loud so everyone can hear!" said Mia.
They stood up and belted out the song together:
 "We help, we laugh, we sing and play! Girl Scouts make a happy day!"

After singing, they put away the blankets and took down the tent carefully.
"Let’s pack up everything nicely and get ready for a group photo," said the leader.

"Wait! Let’s take a picture before we go!" said Emma.
They lined up and smiled for the camera. "Say cheese!"
Mia also took out her camera to snap a photo of her friends.

Before leaving, they decided to go over the park one more time to check out if they missed any trash.
"Look, I found another bottle!" said Mia. She picked it up and put it in the recycling bin.

As Mia walked back to the car, she thought about how much fun she had.
"Can we go back next week and do more activities?" she asked Mom.
"Of course," said Mom. "You had such a great day helping others and having fun!"

Mia looked back at the park and said, "I can’t wait for next time!"
