My Brother’s Friend Brad

I have a brother. He is nice and funny.
He likes to play sports and eat pizza.
But this story is not about my brother.
This story is about his friend, Brad.

 

Brad is tall. He is taller than my brother!
He has brown hair and big eyes.
He always smiles at people, and everyone likes him.

Brad can sing well.
Sometimes I hear him sing along to songs on the radio.
His voice is strong and sweet, like a star!

I think Brad is cool.
He is funny, smart, and nice to everyone.
I really look up to him.

Sometimes, Brad comes over to our house after school.
He and my brother hang out in the living room.
They talk about games and school and food.
Then they play video games and laugh out loud.

I always walk by slowly, pretending to get water.
Sometimes I look at Brad and hope he sees me.
But most times, he only talks to my brother.

One day, Brad looked at me and said,
“Hi there! Do you want to play with us?”
My heart went boom boom!
I smiled big and said, “Yes!”

We sat down on the floor and played together.
He was nice to me. He helped me win the game!
When I won, he even clapped and said, “Wow!”

I almost fell over from happiness.
It was the best day ever.

Another time, Brad brought his guitar.
He started to sing for us in the living room.
I just sat there and listened like a little puppy.
His voice was soft, then strong.
Even my brother said, “Brad, you should be famous!”

Brad sang along to a happy song.
He made up funny words and made us laugh.
He even let me try out the guitar!

He said, “You can learn if you keep at it.”
That made me feel really special.

After that day, Brad came by more often.
He always said hi to me.
Sometimes he smiled just at me, not my brother!

I started to draw little hearts with his name.
I even wrote down “Brad is my type” in my notebook.

One day, I told my best friend,
“I think Brad is my dream boy.”
She said, “What?! He’s your brother’s friend!”
And we both laughed out loud.

But it’s true. He is tall.
He is kind. He can sing.
And he makes me smile every time.

I think… Brad is my perfect type.

Shhh… Don’t tell on me, okay?
