My Career Presentation Day 

Today was the career presentation day at school.
Each student had to stand in front of the class and talk about their dream job.
At first, I didn’t want to sign up for it.
But my teacher told me, “You should give it a try.”

I decided to talk about my dream of becoming a scientist.
I started by writing down what I wanted to say.
Then I looked up some facts about science and space.
I even printed out a few pictures to show during my talk.

The night before, I practiced in front of the mirror.
I tried to speak clearly and look confident.
My sister helped me go over my notes.
She said, “You’ll do great tomorrow!”

The next day, I woke up early and got dressed.
I packed up my notes and photos in my bag.
At school, I saw other students getting ready.
Everyone was holding papers and talking to each other.

Some looked nervous, others excited.
I tried to calm down and stay positive.
When my name was called, I took a deep breath and walked up to the front.
My hands were shaking, but I smiled.

I began by telling the class why I love science.
I showed the pictures and explained what they meant.
I told them I want to study hard and work in a lab someday.
I even said, “I want to help solve problems for the world.”

Some students nodded, and others smiled.
That gave me the courage to keep going.
I wrapped up my talk by saying, “Follow your dreams!”
Then I walked back to my seat and sat down.

The class clapped for me, and I felt proud.
My teacher gave me a thumbs-up and said, “Well done!”
After that, we all listened to each other’s dreams.
One friend wanted to be a cook, another a soccer player.

It was fun to hear about so many ideas.
I learned that everyone has a different path.
We should support each other no matter what.
Some students even asked me questions about science after class.

Later, I looked back on the day.
I was glad I had the courage to stand up and speak.
It wasn’t perfect, but it felt honest and real.
I think I want to do more presentations like this in middle school.

Tonight, I’ll write down what I learned from today.
I’ll also thank my sister for helping me prepare for the big moment.
And I’ll keep my notes as a memory.
Because today, I took one step closer to my dream.

해석

오늘은 학교에서 진로 발표 대회가 있던 날이었어요.

모든 학생이 교실 앞에 서서 자신의 꿈을 이야기해야 했죠.

처음엔 저도 참여하기 싫었지만,

선생님이 “한번 도전해보는 건 어때?”라고 말씀하셨어요.

 

그래서 저는 제 꿈인 과학자에 대해 이야기하기로 했어요.

말하고 싶은 내용을 적기 시작했고,

과학과 우주에 관한 정보를 검색했어요.

보여줄 수 있게 그림도 출력했어요.

 

전날 밤에는 거울 앞에서 연습도 했고,

또렷하게 말하려고, 자신 있게 보이려고 노력했어요.

누나가 제 노트를 점검해 줬어요.

“내일은 잘할 수 있을 거야!”라고 말해줬죠.

 

다음날 아침 저는 일찍 일어나,

노트와 그림을 가방에 챙겼어요.

학교에 가니 친구들도 준비 중이었어요.

모두가 종이를 들고 이야기하고 있었어요.

 

어떤 친구는 긴장했고, 어떤 친구는 들떠 있었어요.

저는 진정하려고 했고, 긍정적인 마음을 유지했어요.

제 이름이 불리자, 깊게 숨을 쉬고 앞으로 걸어 나갔어요.

손이 떨렸지만 웃으려 노력했어요.

 

“제가 과학을 좋아하는 이유는…”으로 발표를 시작했어요.

그림도 보여주고, 의미도 설명했죠.

“열심히 공부하고, 나중에 연구소에서 일하고 싶어요”라고도 말했어요.

“세상의 문제를 해결하는 데 도움을 주고 싶어요”라고도 했죠.

 

친구들이 고개를 끄덕이고, 미소를 지었어요.

그게 용기를 줬고, 저는 계속해서 발표했어요.

마지막엔 “꿈을 향해 나아가세요!”라고 외쳤어요.

그리고 자리로 돌아갔죠.

 

친구들이 박수를 쳐줬고, 저는 뿌듯했어요.

선생님도 “잘했다!”며 엄지척을 해주셨어요.

그 후, 우리는 서로의 꿈을 들으며,

“나는 요리사가 되고 싶어!” “나는 축구선수가 되고 싶어!” 같은 이야기가 나왔죠.

 

다양한 꿈을 듣는 게 재밌었어요.

모두가 다른 길을 간다는 걸 배웠어요.

누구든지 서로 응원해야 해요.

발표 후 몇몇 친구는 저에게 과학 질문도 했어요.

 

그날 밤, 저는 하루를 되돌아보며,

“용기 내서 앞에 서서 말하길 잘했어”라고 생각했어요.

완벽하진 않았지만 솔직했고 진심이었어요.

중학교에 가서도 이런 발표를 더 하고 싶어요.

 

오늘 느낀 걸 적어두고,

저를 도와준 누나에게도 감사하고 싶어요.

그리고 오늘 만든 노트는 소중한 추억으로 간직할 거예요.

왜냐하면 오늘, 저는 제 꿈에 한 발짝 더 다가갔거든요.
