My Experience as a Group Leader 

One day, our teacher asked me to take charge of a group project.
At first, I was surprised and didn’t know what to do.
I decided to write down a list of ideas.
Then, I asked my group members to come up with their own thoughts too.

We sat down together in the classroom.
Everyone started to talk about what we could do.
I tried to listen to each person carefully.
My job was to bring together all the good ideas.

We divided up the tasks.
One person would draw, one would write, and another would explain.
I helped everyone stay on track.
When someone got confused, I tried to help out.

At first, some kids didn’t get along very well.
But I reminded them to be kind and work together.
We all wanted to do our best.
So we kept going, even when we got tired.

I also had to check in with the teacher from time to time.
She told me I was doing a good job.
That helped me feel proud of myself.
Each day, we met after class to work on the project.

Sometimes, it was hard to keep everyone focused.
Some kids wanted to goof off or just talk about other things.
But I tried to bring them back to the task.
We had to stick to our plan.

We used a big piece of paper to lay out our ideas.
I helped cut out pictures and glue them down.
We also wrote down facts we learned from books.
It was fun to put everything together.

I tried not to boss around anyone.
Instead, I asked questions and gave encouragement.
I told my team, “Let’s finish up strong!”
And they all nodded and smiled.

On the final day, we had to present our project.
I stood in front of the class with my group.
We took turns to speak about each part.
I tried to speak clearly and make eye contact.

After the presentation, everyone clapped for us.
My friends said, “You did great!”
Our teacher gave us stickers and said we were awesome.
I was so happy that I wanted to jump up and down.

Later, I thought about what I had learned.
I learned how to lead, listen, and be patient.
I also learned how to solve problems with others.
That made me feel more confident.

Now, I know being a leader doesn’t mean you do everything.
It means you help the team work together.
You also need to stay calm when problems come.
And you have to stand up for your team.

I want to be a better leader next time.
I will remember this experience.
It helped me grow as a student and a person.
And I will always look back on it with pride.

해석

어느 날, 선생님께서 저에게 모둠 활동 리더 역할을 맡기셨어요.

처음에는 놀라고 어떻게 해야 할지 몰랐어요.

그래서 아이디어들을 적어보고,

친구들에게도 자신만의 생각을 생각해보자고 했어요.

 

우리는 교실에 앉아서,

무엇을 할지 이야기했어요.

저는 모든 친구의 말을 주의 깊게 들으려고 노력했어요.

제 역할은 좋은 생각을 모으는 것이었죠.

 

우리는 할 일을 나눴어요.

한 명은 그림을 그리고, 한 명은 글을 쓰고, 한 명은 설명하기로 했어요.

저는 모두가 집중할 수 있도록 도왔어요.

누군가 헷갈리면 도와주려고 했어요.

 

처음에는 몇 명이 잘 지내지 못했어요.

그래서 저는 서로 친절하게 대하고 협력하자고 말했죠.

우리는 모두 최선을 다하고 싶었어요.

그래서 지치더라도 계속했어요.

 

선생님과도 가끔씩 소통하며 확인받았어요.

“잘하고 있어”라는 말에 저는 뿌듯함을 느꼈어요.

우리는 수업이 끝나면 매일 모여서 작업을 이어갔어요.

 

가끔은 모두를 집중시키는 게 어려웠어요.

몇몇 친구는 장난치거나 다른 이야기만 했죠.

그럴 땐 다시 집중하도록 이끌었어요.

계획대로 지키는 게 중요했어요.

 

우리는 커다란 종이에 아이디어를 펼쳐 놓았고,

저는 그림을 오리고 붙였어요.

책에서 배운 정보를 적기도 했죠.

그렇게 하나로 합쳐갔어요.

 

저는 누구에게도 명령만 하려 하지 않았어요.

대신 질문하고 칭찬했어요.

“끝까지 멋지게 해내자”고 말했죠.

모두가 고개를 끄덕이며 웃었어요.

 

드디어 발표 날이 되었고,

우리는 앞에 나가 프로젝트를 발표했어요.

한 사람씩 자기 부분을 말했어요.

저는 또렷하게 말하려고 했고, 눈을 마주치려 노력했어요.

 

발표 후, 모두가 우리에게 박수를 쳐줬어요.

친구들도 “멋졌어!”라고 말했어요.

선생님은 스티커도 주시며, 최고였다고 해주셨어요.

너무 행복해서 폴짝 뛰고 싶었어요.

 

그날 밤, 저는 무엇을 배웠는지 곰곰이 생각했어요.

이끄는 법, 경청하는 법, 참을성을 배웠어요.

함께 문제를 해결하는 방법도 알게 되었죠.

그래서 자신감도 생겼어요.

 

이제 저는 리더는 모든 걸 직접 하는 게 아니라,

팀을 돕고 하나가 되게 하는 사람이라는 걸 알아요.

문제가 생겨도 침착해야 하고,

팀을 지지해주는 사람이어야 해요.

 

다음엔 더 좋은 리더가 되고 싶어요.

이 경험을 절대 잊지 않을 거예요.

학생으로서도, 사람으로서도 저를 성장시켜준 시간이었어요.

그리고 이 일을 자랑스럽게 회상할 거예요.
