April 12th, Monday

Today I woke up feeling excited again. It was the day of the school art contest results. I put on my lucky socks and quickly ate breakfast. My mom wished me luck as I headed off to school. On the way, I ran into my friend, Jina. She also entered the contest. We talked about our paintings and tried to calm down.

When we got to school, everyone was gathered near the art room. I looked around and saw amazing artwork everywhere. My heart started to beat fast. Soon, the principal came out with the results. She called out Jina’s name first, awarding her third place. We cheered and clapped for her.

Then, she announced second place, and it was my friend Leo. We congratulated him, too. My hands felt sweaty as I waited for the winner’s name. The principal finally called out my name! I couldn’t believe it. I stepped forward and received my award. Everyone clapped loudly.

My friends came up to me and hugged me happily. I felt so proud and thankful. My teacher came over and congratulated me as well. She said I had improved a lot. At lunch, I couldn’t stop smiling as friends gathered around to congratulate me.

After school, I went back home happily. My family celebrated by going out for dinner. They told me how proud they were. Later, I looked at my award and felt happy again. I put up my artwork on my bedroom wall.

Before bed, I wrote down today's exciting events in my diary. I will always look back on today as one of my favorite memories.

해석:

오늘도 나는 흥분된 기분으로 일어났다. 학교 미술 대회 결과가 발표되는 날이었다. 나는 행운의 양말을 신고 재빨리 아침을 먹었다. 엄마는 내가 학교로 향할 때 행운을 빌어주셨다. 가는 길에 친구 지나를 우연히 만났다. 그녀도 대회에 참가했었다. 우리는 서로 그림에 대해 이야기하며 긴장을 풀려고 노력했다.

 

학교에 도착하니 모두 미술실 근처에 모여 있었다. 주변을 둘러보니 멋진 그림들이 가득했다. 심장이 빨리 뛰기 시작했다. 곧 교장 선생님이 나와 결과를 발표했다. 먼저 지나가 3등으로 호명되었다. 우리는 환호하며 박수를 쳤다.

 

다음으로 2등은 친구 레오였다. 우리는 그에게도 축하 인사를 했다. 우승자 발표를 기다리며 손에 땀이 났다. 교장 선생님이 드디어 내 이름을 호명했다! 믿기지 않았다. 나는 앞으로 나가 상을 받았다. 모두 크게 박수를 쳐 주었다.

 

친구들이 내게 다가와 행복하게 껴안아 주었다. 자랑스럽고 감사한 마음이 들었다. 선생님도 오셔서 축하해 주셨다. 점심시간에도 친구들이 모여 축하해 줘서 미소가 멈추지 않았다.

 

학교가 끝나고 나는 행복하게 집으로 돌아갔다. 가족들과 저녁 외식을 하며 축하했다. 가족들도 나를 매우 자랑스러워했다. 나중에 집에서 상을 보며 다시 기분이 좋았다. 나는 내 그림을 방 벽에 걸었다.

 

자기 전에 오늘의 기쁜 일을 일기에 적었다. 나는 오늘을 가장 좋아하는 기억 중 하나로 영원히 돌아볼 것이다.
