A Message on the School Bulletin Board 

Before leaving elementary school, I wanted to leave behind something special.
So, I decided to write a message and post it up on the school bulletin board.
It was my way of saying goodbye and sharing memories.
I hoped others would stop by and read through my note.

On the last week of school, I thought about what to say.
I wanted my message to be honest and warm.
I started to write down my ideas in a notebook.
Then, I picked out the best words.
I wanted to talk about the friends I made.
I also wanted to thank my teachers.
I tried to think back to special memories.
Soon, my message started to come together.

I decided to start off with a big title.
It said, “To Everyone Who Made My School Life Great!”
Then I went on to write about fun times.
I looked back on our sports days and class parties.
I didn’t forget to mention the field trip and camp night.
I pointed out how amazing our teacher was.
I also gave a shout-out to my best friend.
She always stood by me when I was sad.

In my message, I tried to cheer up younger students.
I told them not to give up when things get hard.
I said, “Believe in yourself and keep going.”
I wanted them to look forward to sixth grade.
I shared how I learned to get along with others.
I wrote that it’s okay to make mistakes and learn from them.
I said, “Always stick with your friends.”
These were the words I wanted to pass on.

I also reminded everyone to take care of our school.
“Don’t run around in the halls,” I joked.
“Always clean up after lunch!”
Then I wrapped up my message with a drawing.
I drew out a big smiling sun and a tree.
Under it, I wrote down my name and class.
I felt nervous, but also proud.

On Friday, I went to the board and put up my message.
Some students stopped to read through it.
They smiled at the funny parts.
A few even took pictures of it.
I heard someone call out, “Hey, I love this!”
That really made me feel good about what I wrote.

Later, my teacher came by and read it too.
She looked over the paper carefully.
Then she gave me a big thumbs-up.
She said, “You really spoke from your heart.”
That made me want to tear up, but I smiled.
More people started to talk about my note.
Even the principal showed up and smiled at it.

Now, the message is still on the board.
Every time I walk past, I feel proud.
I hope students in lower grades will look up to our class.
I hope they will keep in mind our advice.
And maybe one day, they’ll also put up their own message.
It felt good to leave behind something kind.
Something that will stay with the school.
Even after we move on, our words will live on.

해석

초등학교를 떠나기 전에, 저는 특별한 무언가를 남기고 싶었어요.

누군가가 잠깐 들러서 제 글을 읽어주길 바랐어요.

 

마지막 주, 무슨 말을 쓸지 생각했어요.

따뜻하고 진솔한 글을 쓰고 싶었어요.

먼저 노트에 생각을 적어보고,

가장 좋은 표현들을 골라냈어요.

함께했던 친구들에 대해 이야기하고,

선생님들께 감사하고 싶었어요.

특별했던 순간들을 회상하며,

조금씩 제 글이 완성되어 갔어요.

 

큰 제목으로 시작했어요:

“저의 학교생활을 멋지게 만들어 준 모든 분께!”

그리고 즐거웠던 시간들을 계속해서 썼어요.

운동회, 반 파티, 소풍, 캠프,

선생님들의 멋진 지도,

그리고 저를 곁에서 지켜준 친구 이야기까지요.

 

글 속에는 후배들을 위한 응원도 담았어요.

“힘들 땐 포기하지 말고 계속해보세요.”

“자신을 믿고 계속 나아가세요.”

6학년이 얼마나 기대되는 학년인지도 말했죠.

친구들과 잘 지내는 법,

실수하고 거기서 배우는 것의 소중함도요.

“친구와의 관계는 꼭 지켜야 해요”라고 썼고,

이런 말들을 꼭 전하고 싶었어요.

 

그리고 학교를 잘 돌봐주세요라는 말도 넣었어요.

“복도에서 막 뛰지 말고요~” 하고 장난도 쳤고,

“점심 먹고는 꼭 정리하세요!”도 적었죠.

마지막에는 웃는 해와 나무를 그려넣고,

그 아래에 이름과 반을 썼어요.

살짝 떨렸지만, 뿌듯했어요.

 

금요일, 저는 직접 가서 글을 붙였어요.

몇몇 학생들이 멈춰 서서 읽었고,

웃기도 하고,

사진을 찍는 친구도 있었어요.

어떤 아이가 “야, 이거 최고야!” 하고 소리쳤죠.

그 말을 듣고 정말 기분이 좋았어요.

 

선생님도 나중에 오셔서 글을 읽으셨어요.

종이를 천천히 살펴보시고,

“마음에서 우러나온 말들이네”라고 하셨어요.

울컥했지만 웃었어요.

다른 사람들도 제 글을 이야기하기 시작했어요.

교장 선생님도 오셔서 미소 지으셨답니다.

 

이제 제 글은 여전히 게시판에 있어요.

거기 지나갈 때마다, 저는 자랑스러워요.

후배들이 우리 반을 존경해 주길 바라고,

우리 조언도 마음에 새기길 바랐어요.

언젠가 자기 글도 게시하길 바라면서요.

따뜻한 무언가를 남겼다는 사실,

그리고 그것이 이 학교에 계속 남을 거라는 것,

졸업 후에도 이 말들은 우리와 함께 이어질 거예요.
