A Fun Weekend Trip
Last weekend, Emma and her family went on a fun trip to the countryside.
The sun was shining, and the sky was blue.
Emma was so happy. "I can't wait to get there!" she said.
They packed up their bags and set off early in the morning.
Emma looked out the window as they drove.
"Look! Cows and sheep!" she said, pointing out the window.
When they arrived at the little house by the river, Emma jumped out of the car.
"Wow! It’s so pretty here!" she said.
Her dad took out the picnic basket, and mom carried on bringing more things inside.
"Let’s check out the river first!" Emma said.
They walked to the river and sat down on a big rock.
Emma picked up stones and threw them in the water.
"Watch me! I can skip stones!" she said.
Later, they went back to the house to eat lunch.
Mom set up the food on a blanket outside.
They sat down and dug into sandwiches, fruits, and cookies.
"This is so yummy!" Emma said as she bit into a big apple.
After lunch, Emma and her brother went off to explore.
"Let’s look around and see what we can find," her brother said.
They came across a small frog near the river. "Look at this tiny frog!" Emma said.
"Be careful! Don’t pick it up," said her brother.
In the afternoon, they put on their hiking shoes and headed out for a walk in the woods.
The trees were tall, and birds flew by singing songs.
Suddenly, Emma tripped over a rock and fell down.
"Ouch!" she said.
"Are you okay? Can you get up?" asked her mom.
Emma smiled and said, "Yes, I’m fine. Let's keep going!"
While they were walking, they came upon a small bridge.
"Let’s go over the bridge!" said Emma.
On the other side, they found a beautiful flower field.
Emma picked up a yellow flower and held it up to show her mom.
"This is for you, Mom!" she said.
In the evening, they went back to the house.
Dad made up a little fire, and they sat around to roast marshmallows.
"Don’t eat up all the marshmallows, Dad!" Emma laughed.
They looked up at the night sky and saw the stars.
"Wow, so many stars!" Emma said.
When it was time to sleep, Emma lay down in her bed.
"I don’t want this trip to be over," she whispered.
Mom tucked her in and said, "We can come back next time."
Emma smiled and drifted off to sleep, dreaming of more adventures.
