The Day I Missed the Bus Home 200

After school, Junho packed up his bag slowly.
He was busy talking with his friends.

Suddenly, he looked out the window.
“Oh no! The bus is leaving!”

He ran out of the classroom and rushed down the stairs.
But when he got to the gate, the bus had already left.

Junho stood still, feeling nervous.
“What do I do now?”

A teacher came over and asked,
“Did you miss your bus?”
Junho nodded with a red face.

“It’s okay,” the teacher said.
“Let’s call your mom together.”

They went into the office and used the phone.
His mom picked up and said,
“It’s alright. I’ll come get you.”

While waiting, Junho read a book and talked with the teacher.
“I’ll set an alarm next time!” he said with a laugh.

When his mom showed up, she gave him a big hug.
“You’re safe. That’s what matters.”

Missing a ride can be scary,
but being safe and cared for makes everything okay.

하교 후, 준호는 천천히 가방을 챙겼어요.

친구들과 이야기하느라 바빴거든요.

그때 갑자기 창밖을 봤어요.

“어, 안 돼! 버스가 출발했어!”

준호는 교실에서 뛰쳐나가

계단을 급히 내려갔어요.

하지만 정문에 도착했을 땐,

버스는 이미 떠나버렸어요.

준호는 가만히 서서 긴장된 표정이었어요.

“이제 어떡하지?”

선생님 한 분이 다가오셔서 물으셨어요.

“버스 놓쳤니?”

준호는 얼굴이 빨개져서 고개를 끄덕였어요.

“괜찮아,” 선생님이 말씀하셨어요.

“엄마한테 같이 전화하자.”

둘은 교무실로 가서 전화를 썼어요.

엄마가 전화를 받고 말했어요.

“괜찮아, 내가 데리러 갈게.”

기다리는 동안, 준호는 책을 읽고

선생님과 이야기했어요.

“다음엔 알람 맞춰야겠어요!” 그는 웃으며 말했죠.

엄마가 도착하자, 준호를 꼭 안아주셨어요.

“무사해서 다행이야. 그게 제일 중요하지.”

버스를 놓치면 무서울 수 있지만,

안전하고 누군가가 돌봐줄 때

모든 건 괜찮아져요.
