Tom’s Super Fresh Morning

Tom finally got over his terrible cold. After seven long, exhausting days of lying in bed, sneezing, coughing, and feeling miserable, he woke up feeling fresh and full of energy.

He sat up in bed and took a deep, refreshing breath. "Wow! I can finally breathe again! No more stuffy nose! No more coughing!" he said, grinning widely. It felt like he had been given a brand-new body.

Then, he picked up his pillow and hugged it tightly. "No more gross medicine! No more wet tissues everywhere! I feel amazing!"

Suddenly, a delicious smell came in from the kitchen. His eyes widened with excitement. "What is that? I forgot how good food smells! It smells like the best breakfast ever!"

Tom jumped out of bed and ran down the stairs as fast as he could. "Good morning, Mom! What’s for breakfast?" he asked, his stomach growling loudly.

Mom looked over at him and smiled. "Good morning, Tom! You look much better today. We have eggs, toast, and warm soup. I made a special breakfast just for you."

Tom sat down at the table and took in the wonderful, mouth-watering smell. "This is amazing! I can finally taste food again!" he cheered, rubbing his hands together in excitement.

His little sister, Emma, came over and giggled. "You were sick for so long! I thought you would never eat again!"

Tom laughed out loud. "Me too! But now I’m ready to eat everything in the kitchen!"

He reached for an apple, but Emma held up her hands quickly. "Oh! I ate all the fruit while you were sick!"

Tom stared at her in shock, his mouth dropping open. "What?! You ate everything? Even the oranges and strawberries Mom bought a few days ago?"

Emma nodded with a big smile. "Yep! They were super yummy!"

Tom sighed and shook his head. "I was suffering in bed, and you were eating all my fruit? That’s not fair!"

Mom brought out another plate of eggs and toast. "Don’t worry, Tom. I’ll buy more fruit today. But for now, eat your breakfast while it’s warm."

Tom took a bite of his crispy toast and looked at Emma with a playful glare. "Next time, save some for me, okay?"

Emma grinned and gave him a thumbs-up. "Okay! But only if you don’t get sick again!"

Tom chuckled. "I’ll try my best!" He happily continued eating his breakfast, enjoying every bite.

As he ate, he looked out the window. The sun was shining brightly, the birds were chirping, and he finally felt alive again. "It’s so nice to be healthy again! Today, I’m going to play outside all day!"

Mom walked over and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Not so fast, young man! You still need to rest a little more. Just because you feel better doesn’t mean you should run around too much."

Tom leaned back in his chair and groaned. "Oh, come on! I just want to have fun!"

Mom smiled. "You can have fun, but take it easy. No running around too much today, alright?"

Tom rolled his eyes but smiled. "Fine, fine. I’ll take it easy. But tomorrow, I’m going to have the best day ever!"

Mom and Emma both laughed as Tom happily finished his breakfast. It was the best meal he had eaten in days.
