The Book That Made Me Cry 

Today during reading time, something surprising happened.
I read a book that made me cry.
It was called The Dog Who Waited.
At first, I thought it was just a happy story.
The dog lived with a kind boy.
They played together, ate together, and walked together.
They were best friends.
But then something sad happened.
The boy got sick and had to go to the hospital.
The dog waited for him every day.
It sat by the gate and looked at the road.
Even when it rained, the dog didn’t leave.
The pages showed pictures of the lonely dog.
My eyes started to tear up.
I turned the page slowly.
Then I read the part where the boy didn’t come back.
I put down the book for a moment.
I felt so sad.
My heart hurt for the dog.
The teacher walked by and saw me.
She asked, “Are you okay?”
I nodded and said, “The book is just really touching.”
She smiled and said, “That means it’s a good book.”
I picked it up again and kept reading.
Later in the story, a new family came to the house.
The dog looked up at them and wagged its tail.
A girl petted the dog and smiled.
It wasn’t the same, but it was a new start.
The book ended with hope.
I closed the book and held it close.
I learned that stories can bring big feelings.
Some books make us laugh, others make us cry.
This one did both.
I will remember this story for a long time.
Books are amazing.

해석

책을 잠시 내려놓았어요.

너무 슬펐어요.

강아지가 안쓰러웠어요.

선생님이 옆을 지나며 저를 보셨어요.

“괜찮니?”라고 물으셨어요.

저는 고개를 끄덕이며 “이 책이 너무 감동적이에요”라고 했어요.

선생님은 “그건 좋은 책이라는 뜻이야”라고 하셨어요.

책을 다시 들고 계속 읽었어요.

이야기 후반엔 새로운 가족이 집에 왔어요.

강아지가 그들을 올려다보고 꼬리를 흔들었어요.

한 여자아이가 강아지를 쓰다듬으며 웃었어요.

예전 같지는 않았지만, 새로운 시작이었어요.

이 책은 희망으로 끝났어요.

책을 덮고 꼭 껴안았어요.

이야기가 큰 감정을 줄 수 있다는 걸 배웠어요.

어떤 책은 우리를 웃게 하고, 어떤 책은 울게 해요.

이 책은 둘 다 했어요.

이 이야기는 오랫동안 기억에 남을 거예요.

책은 정말 멋져요.
